What do you like best about the product?
Xero allows my company to keep track fo expenses, revenue, and aging receivables in a timely and organized fashion. It's dashboards provide us with a bird's eye-view of the state of our company's finances. There is a relatively low learning curve, especially for users who aren't from finance/accounting backgrounds. We have also utilized Xero's automation tools to send out invoices on a monthly basis and reduce man-effort in our finance department.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero is limited in its customizability. For instance, there are only 2 tracking categories that can be added to each invoice. This is troublesome when we need to track our revenue in greater detail, e.g. product category, sales team, project ID.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Xero to track our revenue, expenses, and aging receivables. We utilize the reference field on Xero invoices to tag each invoice to the relevant customer and contract. This allows us to break-down our monthly revenue by customer and contract. With Xero's automation tools, we can also automate the sending of invoices and payment reminders which has helped us to reduce man-effort.

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is functionally easy to use but their commercial practices leave a great deal to be desired.
What do you dislike about the product?
They keep hiking prices for existing users thinking they have them trapped and that we will continue to subscribe because of the pain of migration. Trying to justify the increases because of "added value" functionality is just a smokescreen because if the added features are useful, they are simply an added and unwanted cost. Within an hour of being informed of an enforced price rise, I got another email from them telling me they were pissing $750k away on some vanity marketing project. They need to get their priorities right, and fast...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic accounting for a small consulting business. Functionally OK but commercially intolerable.

What do you like best about the product?
Modern architecture = it seldom breaks (yet the interface looks 20-years or more ago). Broadly supported by accountants (they get free practice management capabilities... nice -- but better for them than business who have to use it who pay through the nose... not nice).
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost every useful feature comes at an extra COST, inspite of it being expensive to start. VERY poor support options -- if you REALLY need help when you need it -- best look elsewhere. Profoundly disappointed that this is wrongly considered "market leading" -- its not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Legally required accounting reporting, some automation and integration with EFTPOS suppliers and accounants who insist we use it (otherwise, charge us for it even if we don't).

What do you like best about the product?
Paying employees, managing expenses and overviews of ingoings and outgoings
What do you dislike about the product?
some more email marketing that includes links to resources like templates and checklists and free training/courses (which I can create) or free videos on youtbe for small businesses and employees may be a good idea, example - "how to onboard star employees" and have a link to free templates from Xero or a third company (our company) who will pre record these videos and display on our youtube with affiliate marketing to xero subscriptions and provide value to viewers as we can touch on subjects like "have you thought about what types of policies and procedures you need for employees to maintain compliance or encourage the implimentation if the values of your business? or if you had a section where we could upload our policies and procedures that our staff have signed would be good to keep under employees potentially ir even better if you could email them and they click an acknowlegement of viewing/ signing of the contract or policy and Xero refers to the date this was signed protecting businesses and offering support in employee management - please dont hesitate to contact me if you like more info!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
being able to pay staff, send invoices, link banks to see ingoings and outgoings, monitoring cash flow for business including what is owed to us and more

What do you like best about the product?
Xero has made small business accounting easy and accessible to me, even without a business background. It helps me reconcile transactions easily so I never miss one. Xero is also a one stop shop for all my sales needs, such as invoices and quotes. I like that it's all in one place, with great tutorials to help me too.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if you could keep track of various types of expenses in Xero to make it easy for the end of financial year tax return. Maybe this feature is there and I haven't come across it yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero has made accounting incredibly accessible to me, even though I lack accounting and business knowledge. As a former teacher with a small business, I need a lot of assistance in this area. Xero has been easy to pick up and run with so that I can manage my finances with confidence and make sure every transaction is reconciled easily.
