What do you like best about the product?
The best part of using buddypress for me is they provide me many options to customize my site even i can integrate it with CRM. with Buddypress it become easy to customize my site.

What do you dislike about the product?
I did not face any problems while working on BuddyPress. But sometime I experience slow performance otherwise I had a great experience while using it and love to explore more.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of my customer asked me to build a website for social networking for their business where they can connect to their suppliers and contractors and talk with them. with BuddyPress I completed my work easily.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that there are various options to customize your site and that you can integrate it with a CRM, and a membership gateway such as Memberium or Memberpress. This platform has allowed us to create a private membership site and community for our members.

There are some customizations that you have to download a third-party plug-in to make and then some customizations would require a web developer to make.

If you want to create a membership site away from the mainstream social media platforms this is a great way to do it!

We have been able to create a private membership site. A place that is reserved for our paying members and it is a safe place for conversation.

What do you like best about the product?
BP is dead easy to set up. Default pages are created automatically and mapped to their proper functions. also, I liked the option of being able to customize and create a social media website similar to Facebook, Twitter, etc. it's an open-source plugin for WordPress which is free to cost. Even you can customize it if you've some programming knowledge. The thing, I love about BuddyPress is its huge community support. I needed a backend for my website and I thought this was going to be a great option. It wasn't. The team there is very nice and responsive, but it wasn't fit for my company. We ended up going with a project management back end. With BuddyPress, you get to make your website social and interactive. I wanted to create a website where people could talk and interact but I was not sure i could handle a forum.

What do you dislike about the product?
No built-in media uploading. Activity updates are similarly crippled. There's no text editor so users can't even add inline hypertext links. Finally, after posting the problem to different online forums, it was resolved. Compatibility issue is one thing BuddyPress user may battle with, especially on WordPress users. The plugin may not work well with some themes and plugins. It doesn't provide you complete social media site feature, so you need other plugins or you need coding to create features as per your requirements. also add a new profile img.

This is the best plugin community.

What do you like best about the product?
BuddyPress is a very flexible community based platform build as a plugin for WordPress. The main things I really like about BuddyPress is it's flexibility from a coding perspective. It's built with developers in-mind with a large range of hooks and over-ridable functions that make customisations a breeze!

What do you dislike about the product?
At times the documentation can be a-little sparse so it can be tricky to find answers when you are getting into deep customisation - although that's improving all the time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've created a couple of large enterprise level sites with BuddyPress, along with a small handful of smaller community based projects. One of the biggest solutions it provides is complete control of your communities data - from a privacy point of view (and that of your members) it's a good thing to have this control away from the big platforms like Facebook. Ultimately it provides a quick way to deploy a very functional community site to help people interact with each other.

For the most part, BuddyPress did what we had intended it to do. We were a team of designers and developers, so working around limitations was a part of our daily life. Otherwise, BuddyPress gave us what we were looking for structurally.

Buddpress is one of the best community portal for CMS. Buddy press is a very user-Friendly plugin in WordPress. If Anyone wants To create Own community Portal for their company. I will suggest BuddyPress because the overall development time and cost would be significantly less.

But we have very less plugin in market place for other feature like wiki, file management And. File sharing. For each community portal file sharing option for group user or another group member. That option is not there. And for file management also there is no restriction and no private folder for each user.

One of my c asked the community portal for their company. I checked their requirement. That time I realise BuddyPress will be suitable for their requirement even though some main features is not there.

Easy to setup and install; it fit in with the wordpress way of creating things.

I found that we'd have to customize the software a lot in order to make it work for our client.

We were trying to setup a site to use for shared economy; ie, we wanted to allow members to be able to purchase from other members. We didn't choose the solution because there was a lot of customization involved, and the client wanted to choose a non wordpress solution to go forward.

Its allows me to create and manage social portal for a furniture company. Importantly it's all their requirements no big customization at all. Im happy and my clients too.

The emails controls and it types especially when you have to deal with high amount of members in your sites. It slows down the flow sometimes.

I love that Buddypress basically gives you the framework to create an online community that is based on your website / online membership.

I haven't used Buddypress for a few years now but I remember that it was very frustrating for my developers to make simple changes which were needed in order to streamline the user experience.

As a web developer, I like how Buddypress provides flexibility to handle and customize roles, members, member related features, forum like feature and easy implementation. I like the way BP integrates group discussions and private messaging.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Buddypress support. Once I had one strange problem on my client website and it took about 2 months to resolve that. I, on behalf of my client, contacted Buddypress technical support many times and the responses were very much delayed. Finally after posting problem to different online forums, it was resolved.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
When looking for solution of your problem with Buddypress, instead of asking to their support, ask in forums like Stakeoverflow. Also don't use too many add-ons but build your own solution. Install Wordpress then make it Network site and then install Buddypress (from my personal experience) to avoid some common issues.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've had couple of clients who wanted to have a website with social media like features, want to use a theme and Wordpress. So instead of building from scratch I suggested him and used Buddypress. Then he purchased a Buddypress based theme. That was so easy. He had some custom requirements and those were mostly possible due to variety of hooks available. After development is done, he can now use add-ons for some functionality and ask me to customize some add-on which does not completely fulfill his requirements. So a benefit for me and him is he can easily add/remove some features just by add/remove of add-on.
