1. Performance Issue: Issues can be dealt with while workin gon complex files leading to lagging & hampering the UI 2. Limited Offline Mode: It is operational majorly online which means one needs to have a stable internet connection all the time. 3. Pricing: Their pricing can be quite expensive when compared to competitors. We had to think thrice before moving ahead with it.

What do you like best about the product?
One of most easy and user friendly tools me and my team has used in order to transfrom our ideas and designs. The best thing I like about this tool is pre set elements which makes it easy for me and team to use and everyone technical or non technical both the person could use it.

I do not find any major issues here, I can only say the it has huge library to select for this is where you can get confused however it is one of the best tools to use.

Building solutions using technologies can be challenging due to the lack of understanding between different stakeholders. Using proto.io, we can easily create prototypes using their drag-and-drop tool, and it has many inbuilt components to speed up the process.

Most of the designers these days prefer XD or Figma, which also provides t similar solutions, Proto.io is basic when compared to those tools. But being minimal has its own benefits.

What do you like best about the product?
I was able to prototype an app almost completely. The few areas where I couldn't mimic actual real-world functionality with their "out of the box" components, were otheriwse achieved with some clever workarounds that are made available in their support section. If that weren't enough, when I did need help, I clicked the in-app chat, and I received support within 30 minutes. I'm sure it's even faster during their business hours, because I contacted them in the middle of the night, and still got that quick response time.

What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to mimic dynamic lists - in other words, adding items to a list dynamically, isn't available. However, I was able to mimic this functionality after learning how within their support section. It wasn't immediately apparent, nor was it exactly easy, but it was achievable with a little effort.

I was able to show the functionality of our app to investors, and prove the design, all in one go.

My users and myself we able to quickly leran the application. It is intuitive I liked the fact that you have incorporated the Material Design library out of the box. Most modern applications requires this library. It lacks some components however I also like the ease you can publish the prototype and how easy you can collaborate with stakeholders. Proto.io spaces is an amazing place to get help, find new ideas and reuse existing projects

The product lacks some major components like tables which are needed when building a data oriented application. We solved this by integrating HTML, however it did not provide the real desired experience. We should allow the community to build missing components and publish them

we wanted an efficient way to convince management with the new product ideas and show them the benefit of adopting modern UI/UX . We achieved this by using Material Design Look and feel Also we wanted to test some new UX ideas and without proto.io there was no way to show them and automate it. Easy integration with the mobile. Live preview for the prototype. Proto.io is the only online tool to provide the live demo/preview to test the prototype without writing the coding. I was using Proto.io for more than 5 years.

I waiting for the desktop application for Proto.io. This is the one and only dislike, i won't tell this as dislike, it's the additional option i'm looking for.

Save time and cost on designing App Store screenshots. More focus on the Product itself. I think I also do not require a Designer for the help before promptly put up my Mobile App onto Stores. For next I could get better control of the output rather than repeatedly giving instructions for my designer to edit and output. Next time before I want to submit another app, I could clone the template again. This back ups all my design into 1 place.

Being capable to prototype and animate, and even adding css and html animations or other snippets. From that perspective is one of the most complete tools out there. Also, unlike most of the famous solutions out there, you can perform the design, the prototype and the interactive presentation all together.

Performance due being a web app, when the boards are too big is not good. Also it lacks some measure and tools to make the design pixel perfect. Quality of rendering sometimes not good either.

Proto.io has a great UX, it is easier to use that a lot of other prototyping softwares (e.g. protopie). Think of Proto.io as the Wix for prototyping, it has more flexibility than Marvel but functions slights worse (similar to comparing Wix and Squarespace).

It can be very laggy when using the app to build the prototypes. Also it doesn't flow as nice as other softwares mentioned: it is very much a number of screenshots with buttons to link them and some additional features (pop up windows) .

Use it as a first time prototyper to communicate your ideas. Marvel is probably better for people later stage looking for better flow and more functionality

I have been a loyal customer for over a year and paid a lot of money over this period, then I parked it for a few months and still paid monthly "parking" fees... but when I realized I need to put the project on hold - until further notice proto.io customer service was not helpful at all - they said there is no way to back up the project and save it. we live in 21 century - the century of IT - task like this is so simple - they just want you to continue paying them.... If I cancel my subscription - my project will be deleted forever... the only way to keep it is to continue paying ... scumbags! think twice before start using them.

What do you like best about the product?
After testing many solutions for creating wireframes and prototypes, I found Proto.io. Because of its many features and integration between design and prototype of layers, using it I had the best user experience so far. It has many functionalities, like animations, layers and other features for high fidelity prototyping, but it's not difficult to understand, learn or use.

What do you dislike about the product?
Altough its not difficult to use, the interface of Proto.io is a bit cluttered and it lacks space for the design-work on screens that are not so big. The pricing plans for more users are expensive.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are searching for a High-Fidelity protyping tool, Proto.io probably will be the better choice between the "low-cost" tools that can deliver these features.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can easily create objects, and different screen states that will transition into a beautiful prototype that my developers can digest and then go and build.

What do you dislike about the product?
The quality of the images in terms of exporting the documents is actually kind of poor. Some of the color pairings available in Adobe PS/IN/ILL are not possible in Proto. Proto is easier to use than adobe things so I've actually tried to make things in proto and export, however the images are very poor.... I almost wish there was more training in the beginning, but I've been using proto consistently for the last 90 days, and am struggling to think that far back.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Has alot of functionality, but not everything. Some things are harder to develop so that's understandable. It'll change how you design mock ups.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can create my wireframes for a developer, let someone play with it, tell me what's wrong with it before having the entire thing developed. Saves a lot of time and money. Users can feel the prototype without using the full platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Proto.io has a lot of wonderful features for quick prototyping. The animations are a great buy, especially its is like designing an actual product. Even the export to HTML is a huge help for this product. I like the fact that Proto.io is a web product and not only restricted to the mac OS as many prototyping tools are restricted to mac OS which does not all alot of users who use windows to prototype. Another great feature is the integration of photoshop, where on can easily just import files and so easily prototype in Proto.io. Also Proto.io give you the freedom to customize your prototype for any particular screen of your choice and Proto.io is not just limited to web and mobile app. This has helped me alot especially when i do custom designs for prototypes. The layers option is really great which gives the user the freedom to move layers and groups around in Proto.io makes the user feel at home. Great going Proto.io love this product.

Nothing as of now, as there are soo many options and I do not find anything lacking so far. Maybe if they could also integrate Figma would be great.

I love the fact of how incredibly flexible it is. You can even program movements in a way. I even created a synced countdown timer that would work even when clicking to a new page!

I wish they'd make the "programming" a little more dumbed down (it's not really like software programming; just for a lack of a better term). I also highly dislike the fact that they charge you to "park" your project when you're not using it. That's extremely lame.

Strong prototyping capabilities of the platform not only you can design your prototypes with features available here, you can also build your interaction design with this tool. Being a cloud-based platform you can share your work easily with your remote teams to review or to edit it further - saves you time for using any third party sharing applications like Google Drive, Box, and OneDrive etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
Being on a cloud the performance of the tool is directly proportional to your internet connection, people in remote or slower net connectivity may become frustrated with network outages.

For interaction designers and Prototypers, they should give this tool a try for one of their projects. If I had choice to recommend it to any client I would surely suggest this.

Sketch > Proto.io plugin. The ability to create high fidelity prototypes. Once you get how to use it, it's an extremely valuable tool that I would highly recommend.

The learning curve is quite high, and tool findability could be higher. It's occasionally slow with the Sketch import, and it would need to import sketch files as editable SVG's to be essential.

I like the ease of use and the power of this tool. You can build detailed and complex workflows using the online editor and then present the mock-up on a mobile device as if it was a real standalone app. My customers were amazed.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to prototype detailed interactions is very advanced. Their library of existing controls is very helpful when putting the pieces together in a prototype. The ability to export the final prototype into html, css and js is very helpful and works very smoothly when you try to add them on websites as part of portfolios or want to depict the interaction on a promotional page.

What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve in proto can be very high for certain types of interactions and might take a lot of time to conceptualize. This is the case only for very advanced interactions and might hold true for certain simple interactions as well. Layer and object management can be very tedious if the prototype is very big and spans multiple screens and elements. It very much depends on how many micro-interactions are present in the prototype. Considering this is a web client, sometimes working on interactions on the browser itself can be very slow and tedious. This is not a completely tool level problem. At several instances browsers tend to slow the system and hence, the client suffers as well. It looks like their recent improvements on the web client has improved speed and made it less heavy.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In terms of the business problems, the interactions between a designer and developer are becoming highly detail and specification oriented. The tool helps the designer indicate his vision in a very detailed manner and allows the designer to give an example of how things should look and feel in the final code. Proto achieves these requirements in a fabulous manner. While, there are certain disadvantages as mentioned above, they are true for specific instances. I expect very good things from the Proto team and they have taken strong steps to cater to designers.

What do you like best about the product?
What I really like about Proto.io is how well made it is. Not only is it easy to use but the amount of detail you can put into your prototype is insane! Not to mention that they have an app where you can pull up your prototype on your phone! How cool is it that you can just take out your phone and show your friend the prototype of your next project.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I don't like about it is that sometimes it really starts to lag. Since there are so any features and things you can add to your mock up or prototype it starts to drag down the response time for basic functions of moving around the site.

If you are going to use Proto.io get ready to invest a lot of time in it. Not because it's hard to use or anything but because you will want to add "this" and a little bit more of "that". The best part is, is that your prototypes are only limited to your imagination.

It can be difficult to use and clunky. At times, it lags, which is extremely frustrating. Adding small details into wireframes can also take a lot of time. It took a lot of effort to prototype many screens. My team also had difficulties prototyping at the same time using proto.io when using the same account. If two people were working on different frames at the same time, one person's work would not save.

My team and I were wireframing and prototyping an Android application. Proto.io allowed us to select what type of mobile device we were prototyping for and had buttons specific to the OS that we were able to drag and drop onto our wireframe which was very convenient.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a good software for mobile prototyping as it also allows to view the prototypes offline and natively on both android and iphone with a customised app icon. Also, it allows easy importing of the assets directly from Sketch and Photoshop which reduces the time in asset management to a great extent. One more thing that is great about proto,io is that it has a layer based stacking for the assets which allows for creating easy animations and better interactions.

What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the way it has been designed, there are a lot of options presented to the user on the main screen making the entire interface look too cluttered and also reduces the canvas space. Also, there ain't any mac app for Proto.io which does not allow one to prototype without internet.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good tool for prototyping if there are multiple users involved and if you want to assign different level of access to each of them. Proto.io offers three levels of access i.e. "Designer"/"Admin"/"Reviewer". Also, if you want to create native apps that works seamlessly without internet than this is the tool to use.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the seamless transitions and hover effects I was able to implement. I used a video playbook for my background and I was very happy with the outcome. Also, the drag and drop feature came in handy when considering aspect rations.

As of the last time I used it (Jan 2016), it was confusing to prototype long scrolling screens. It took me time to figure out that I had to set individual pages. The web app is also not very light weight so it gets a little slow when I flip between it and graphic editing programs.

The platform offers many different options that others don't offer when creating prototypes. This includes fixing and editing screens within the platform, and making static/dynamic parts of a screen, all within one screen.

I had a ton of difficulty as to how to make my very long screen scrollable in the prototype. After resulting to many, many forums, I found that my answer wasn't even easy. I had to create a "container" for all screens that exceeded the height of the screen resolution. This will take me forever.

What do you like best about the product?
Proto.io can create cyclical and fully functioning prototypes that very closely mimic the real thing. If done well enough it can trick many people into believing it's a legitimate app and not just a web app. It uses Groups and Containers to create functioning animations/interactions within views and you can easily and quickly animate between states creating very nice animations. There are variables and functions that allow the creator to save data such as names and addresses as well as create intricate and interesting interactions. However my favorite feature is animating between states, you create one state, place an object, create another state and then move the object and it will animate between those states - simple.

What do you dislike about the product?
Variables were created about 2 years ago and not improved upon since then. The interface is fairly difficult to use but can be powerful when understood. Heavy prototypes can mess up just because they are complicated and not for any reason such as poor implementation. They can also be slow to update the web app. There isn't too much to dislike about Proto.io, there is a slight learning curve but once you begin to get it you start wanting to play with it and explore more of what it can do.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If anything, give it a try. It's an excellent tool. It depends on what type of problem you are solving, it can do low fidelity and high fidelity, though with the pre-made items they give you like switches and pagination it can look more high fidelity than you want for your low-fi prototypes.

I use it to create animated prototypes that have complicated interactions. Though it is great for wireframe prototypes as well. It is really good at expressing animation and interaction choices that cannot be explained. Developers are very appreciative of being shown how something should be done instead of told.

What do you like best about the product?
I think this really interesting and fascinating idea. The screens allow you to change to frequently used applications at will allows more creative and interested in this sort of thing to have fun and create their layout to your liking. Starter projects for common interface models like sliding menus and tabbed apps. This can be a real time-saver if you know you’ll use these in your prototype.

What do you dislike about the product?
At first glance, for novice users may not be very intuitive. I believe in my humble opinion that the initial instructions are not intuitive and too wasteful. Proto.io does back up each saved version of the entire project, but not at a page or screen level like the Team Projects feature in Axure. The lack of page-level versioning can be a serious problem in settings where several designers are working on large prototypes with lots of pages.

I used Proto.io not for business use, but only staff because I had heard and I was curious. What they are able to develop was a prototype email using the iOS7 and iOS8 libraries.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that Proto provides a way to make graphically- and functionally-complex prototypes that can be viewed and tested easily across a variety of devices (Android, iOS, PC browser) without any substantial coding. I also really liked how easy it was to bring in graphically-realistic UI elements for mobile (keyboards, buttons, etc.) so the prototype mockups could be tested at a conceptual level, without testers getting distracted by unrealistic UI. Finally, I really liked how Proto provided offline access to downloaded projects - this was very helpful when doing user tests "on the road".

What do you dislike about the product?
When using Proto, I frequently wished for an easier way to make stateful conditional logic so user actions like button presses can trigger layout changes on a single screen. For mocking up single-page mobile applications, that capability is very important for getting the screens to come up properly without having to modify lots of overlaid elements' visibility. I also disliked that there was no way to "save and download" a Proto project that could be uploaded later. This meant that, to prevent our work from being lost, we had to keep paying for a Parked account... this is great for the times when we just wanted to do user testing on our product design (when Parked, a design is still viewable) but other times meant we were paying to simply keep our design available for any future use.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to quickly prototype a mobile application and don't want to commit significant developer resources to building it, Proto is a great tool to get that mockup up and running. However, if your prototype's application logic is complex and has a significant UI component, be sure to deeply review the documentation and training materials for building complex interactions.

Proto let my company quickly test out new product ideas, iterate the graphical design and basic functionality of our product concepts, and do user testing in a "realistic" environment.
