What do you like best about the product?
Mailchimp has one of the best email editors among the platforms with a similar price, it allows to personalize the stlye of the email very deeply. It is a good option for those who want to set things up faster, especially regarding welcome emails, unsubscriptions, signup forms, and many other things that you can setup in little more than one click, in the "Form builder" section. It also has the advantage of being one of the most integrated tools around, for email marketing, because almost every ecommerce platform has a native integration with Mailchimp.

What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, the platform allows for little customization, when it comes to forms, list mangement, or also automations. Everything is very standardized, which can be good if you want a faster solution for your business, but is not optimal if you want something more tailor-made. It is hard to build complex and articulate automations, even though the platform provides with a large variety of "pre built" simple scenarios, which in many cases can be more than enough. One thing I do not like about Mailchimp is the management of the lists / contacts, which can be annoying and not so intuitive.

Mailchimp is without a doubt a platform that can be set up pretty fast. Pretty much every ecommerce platform has a native integration with it, so the start up phase is usually faster, compared to other email marketing tools.

MailChimp is an effective and easy to implement tool for email marketing. We can now easily drag & drop the elements to create newsletters professionally. It has given a significant boost to our lead generation process. Setting up an automated email campaign is a tedious task at Mailchimp. I often get stuck while doing so. Nevertheless, the free version comes with a host of valuable features & it is a great tool for managing my customer mails.

What do you like best about the product?
Mailchimp's intuitive interface and robust feature set allow anyone to easily build mailing lists and create campaigns perfectly suited for newsletters and promotion. I especially like how their automated campaigns make creating and managing nurture sequences easy to understand.

It is hard to find fault with the numerous features and benefits Mailchimp offers, so the dislike category comes down to pricing. The lack of any nonprofit pricing makes the solution difficult to justify for small 501c3 organizations.

our experience of using Mailchimp for email marketing has been very satisfactory. It is easy to use and has excellent campaign creation features. Email personalisation is easy and campaign performance can be monitored in real time. I also love the variety of features available, such as segmentation, A/B testing and automation.

What do you like best about the product?
We have used Mailchimp for many years now, We have sometimes tried other software to make sure we were still getting the best possible deal and working with the most user friendly software, but have always gone back to Mailchimp. The layout of the main dashboard has recently been changed and it took our team a while to work out where all the normal headers had been moved to! Once we had searched through all the available sections to find templates, normal service was resumed!

Mailchimp provides a powerful set of features with their email platform that works seemlessly with their other online marketing products such as websites. Fairly easy to use with great support via email.

What do you dislike about the product?
Mailchimp is geared towards their own set or suite of marketing tools. I don't think there's a way to integrate automations with a website unless you're utilizing one built on their platform. Also, list management is a little cumbersome and confusing to wrap your head around initially; I suspect it was done that way to inflate the number of subscribers they get to charge you for.

We have a large contact list and need a robust email platform that we don't have to worry about. Yes, every now and then there are issues...such as link tracking or tag/segment targeting for a campaign, but compared to other platforms, this provides a fairly robust set of options for us.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that MailChimp is easy to use. The drag and drop blocks are very handy, and make it simple to learn. MailChimp also integrates with our database software. So I can run lists in my database, and they sync to MailChimp automatically, making it easy to email exactly who I need to, when I need to. The automated customer journeys are also excellent, and very helpful.

What do you dislike about the product?
Managing the audience seems the be the hardest part of working with MailChimp. There are times I need to upload different information for merge tags, and if I have it for a few people then it is a field for everyone, and it's hard to find to update that information if necessary. Also, the fact that one email address for one person is the limit and people sharing email addresses stays as one person makes it difficult to distinguish between married couples who share an email address in our database.

MailChimp solves the problem of sending mass emails to our church. It also solves the problem of sending the same emails repeatedly to different groups of people.

What do you like best about the product?
In the old days, their humor what a highlight and the easygoing feel of the platform was a big plus. Mailchimp was a no-nonsense email automation solution with a clean interface that did one thing and did it really well: Sent email that actually got delivered. While they still function well enough to do that, a lot of additional elements have been added that are not truly additive for the platform, including a corporate attitude about customer service.

What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, Mailchimp is now trying to expand what it does and find more bells and whistles that seem to exist to make money, not to serve customer needs. Instead of being the best email component possible in your suite of tools, Mailchimp is turning into a lesser version of HubSpot. The only thing it is effectively copying directly is the tendency to put features behind another payment option.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mailchimp still does a great job of getting your email delivered. They have built a reputation that should whitelist you for sending to just about any email address. In that regard, they are still excellent. But their effort to turn into an all-in-one solution for marketing automation is probably not ideal as it will make them weaker in the areas that are their bread and butter.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to use Intuit Mailchimp. I've used the platform for several years, not only for my own personal newsletter but for several organizations as well. Any time I'm asked to create a newsletter for clients, I always use Mailchimp. Not only do they have a free level for beginning users, but some of the functions that are available to free users are more than even some paid systems have. I also use the paid level for a couple other clients and appreciate the added functionality there as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
The automated drip campaigns and the forms are a little difficult to set up at first. I had to consult a few articles outside the Mailchimp system to figure out exactly how to use them. Once I figured it out, everything was fine, but they could be a little more intuitive.

I use Mailchimp to promote a nonprofit organization, as well as for my own personal use. It's a great way to share monthly news with our subscribers, which helps us with fundraising and increasing awareness for our organization.

If you do any kind of regular eblasts (more than 2 a month) or have more than 500 contacts, it's necessary to use the premium version. But it's a good value for the money.

Thanks to direct connection with our fundraising software/CRM, we no longer have to download/upload email addresses. Plus, it takes care of email address updates, unsubscribes, and new subscribers. The paid version has a multitude of email templates, and it's easy to set up a campaign template from scratch. It makes our communications marketing robust and comprehensive.

Creating an email is very easy and intuitive. You can simply drag and drop different email elements, stylize it to match your brand, and for a new business owner the basic free account is an appealing deal.

For someone who wants to start off on the basic plan, you are limited in what you can do. For example, modifying the HTML code to have a more catered look for your brand. this is not to say that you can't create very good looking emails.

The tagging feature is most valuable, allowing you to segment customers by interests or actions. Also, the email editing feature is generally intuitive to use.

Mailchimp has a habit of bubbling up new features that you can't use until you upgrade. While this is not a bad thing in theory, it feels that Mailchimp does it at every turn, making you feel penalized for subscribing to the Essential tier. Also, the sidebar used to be hidden without labels, which Mailchimp fortunately reversed itself on. But searching on contacts is near impossible at times -- very crude search functionality. Overall, given what we as a very small business pay, we're not thrilled with the product and are looking for alternatives.

I find it awkward that the drag-and-drop editor makes emails look too much like templates. Also, changing fonts requires programming skills, which can be a burden for someone who isn't familiar with coding. The choice of fonts is also limited to those from the Google Fonts Pack, which limits the creative freedom of an email campaign.

It's also really easy to design good-looking emails in Mailchimp - the email designer/builder is very intuitive. I really like the landing pages. I've been using mail chimp for 10 years because it's interface, audience management and reporting tools making marketing enjoyable. MailChimp also has intuitive templates, editing functionality and testing tools. Intuit keeps adding and improving upon the strong foundation of Mailchimp and I'm really loving the integration with Canva.

I'm a returning user. I had free and paid Mailchimp accounts from 2017 until around 2022. I used it heavily, and Mailchimp now is NOTHING like the app I used before. PLEASE, for the love of God, hide the paid features from free subscribers! IT'S VERY PAINFUL TO USE because I waste so much time using features I was used to, but didn't know that it was paid feature. I was thinking of upgrading very soon. But the experience I've had so far this week has been nothing but infuriating. All the micro-transactions add up. I hate how I have to pay for so many features that used to be free, but I understand that. What I don't understand is why you want users to waste time setting up something that can't be used anyway if they don't have a paid subscription. Feels so douchey.

The interface is easy to navigate and the segmentations are clean. Being able to report off certain campaigns and "resend to non-openers" was game-changing! We could even just schedule the non-openers when we sent the 1st round and not have to think about it again.

The downside is it's expensive. You have to keep your lists clean as they still charge you for opt-outs. This just added to our processes and after a big tradeshow, or campaign, our cost could go up tremendously. So we found we would send an email through another provider, get the interested leads, then opt them into our MailChimp list. Not ideal, but it worked.

When you get to a certain level of contacts, maybe more than 1,000 you have to use a tool to manage additions, double emails and multiple campaigns. It also helps a lot because we have multiple databases and 2 other units that use it perdiodically.

I wish that they kept historical information on subscribers so you can see progress over a number of years. Additional demographic information would be helpful too.

It´s easy to setup, easy to design emails, easy to test. It´s a simple tool to work with. And it has options for the low end user and a lot of options for the high end user too. The mobile app is used in a great way, as a companion for the desktop version, is not just the same thing in the two platforms. The way you can set up segments in the database is great for sending mails to specific people based on tags.

The user experience is good, but you can get lost moving from one place to another. Working with audiences is ok, but you have to get used to the platform logic of managing this. Once you get used it´s easy. But if you are a once or two times a month user, you´ll have to navigate looking for options each time, or take a look at some notes so you remember where is everything.

Mailchimp's now pay-to-play. Most additional features require a paid account. The user dashboard is clunky and not particularly intuitive. My user habits haven't changed - I literally copy old newsletter templates - and still occasionally am frustrated by navigating the dashboard.

Open and click rates are so unreliable. Of course, apple and spam detection features in the server have made it harder to track them. But it is high time Mailchimp tracked clicks using some form of site tracking. Some of features seem rushed. For example, there is a tag added trigger, but no tag removed trigger. I guess they're opinionated in how we use the features, but that is not communicated to us.
