Setka Editor has micro-templates (snippets) for our specific requests and building layout does not take much time for the designer. The editors could change the design of the particular articles without any problems and very quickly. It helps us to enhance our editors' capacity.

Our publication is about St Petersburg. We are passionate about this city and its residents, local lifestyle, identity, culture. In general, our magazine is committed to explaining why it is worth staying in this city. We launched it in 2012, and by now, we have more than 1 million readers. In addition to the online publication, we do native advertising, marketing, and sociological studies, and organize events for readers. We are trying to move away from the “text-photo-text” design format. Even on mobile screens where this format is justified, you can use more exciting accent elements: dividers, icons, tables. Thanks to the capabilities of Setka Editor, we began to issue extensive editorial and branded content campaigns. There are also plans for some new formats. For example, some time ago, we launched “Albums” – when we tell a story using a gallery of large images and three-dimensional descriptions. This type of presentation helps to create a narrative that needs some discreteness. Each frame shows a separate story, and together they add up to a mosaic of a united one. Our other goal is to allow users to write for our publication directly in the interface. We believe that Setka Editor can help us explain to people how to quickly and easily typeset. It was not possible when we had a basic WordPress editor. We hope that this idea works out, and we’ll get more user-generated content.

I like that I can edit text, arrange images without having to code anything. Setka’s modular grids and post style templates are extremely helpful and remove a lot of unnecessary friction. Setka Editor turned out to be a very easy-to-use tool. We can create any post with any layout we want. The fact that it doesn’t require coding and we can set up the templates for all types of content we use is just amazing. We love how easier and streamlined content production is now for our team.

Verbum is a non-profit website of the State University’s Youth Media Center. Today Verbum magazine is the only youth media outlet in the region. The tool is very user-friendly and everyone in our student editorial team is able to design a post that would be always consistent with our branded style and standards. What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been designing websites for my clients with different needs and goals but each of them wants to get a branded site and be able to maintain it without extra help. That is where Setka Editor comes in very handy with its Reusable templates – my clients can customize their design elements and reuse them without a developer. The content (code) is stored in the customer's database (it's not an embed or a page served from our cloud, no "lock-in"). Setka Editor is focused on proper code structure in line with HTML5 standards. Also, unlike some other page-builders, Setka has a lower level of nesting (which means faster loading times). With Setka my clients can deliver all the content via their own infrastructure. What I also like is that Setka Editor properly uses header tags and supports input of alt text for all the images.

With Setka Editor it is not yet possible to edit posts on the Bitrix front end

What do you like best about the product?
Style Manager. We’re still using a branded style in Style Manager designed by Setka for us. Fonts, colours, indents, and other elements of the blog are intersected with the design of the main website. When we were integrating Setka Editor’s module for “1C-Bitrix” that was our requirement. Setka Editor module for “1C-Bitrix”. We have integrated Setka Editor module for “1C-Bitrix”, and I am now able to design our content layout on my own. Huge benefit – everything is done in one tab and I can see right away how the post will look like. If I need to make any changes, I can do it here and now. Ease of use. I design our content myself though I’ve never studied design before. So far, I’m not doing extremely complicated layouts, but Setka Editor helps a lot, and I like how posts look when published. Using snippets for some of the recurring article elements, like book descriptions cards, saves a lot of time! Grids. I use a 12-column grid that gives a lot of room for manoeuvre: I can turn it into two, three, or four columns and thus adjust the width of the central and side columns on the website. Also, I often need to add an image in the centre or a small object on the side of the main text - with twelve columns, any option is possible.

What do you dislike about the product?
Our site template does not let you make the cover and title of the article in the Editor – they need to be downloaded separately through the admin panel. Therefore, in Setka Editor, I am designing text, starting with an introductory paragraph. Also, through the admin panel, I attach the author’s profile and books from the online store to the materials. It is like a symbiosis of “1C-Bitrix” and Setka Editor.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We decided to become part of a global trend when brands do more than just a corporate blog. We post not only about new books, but try to look for more complex, journalistic formats. Before that, I was designing in the “1C-Bitrix” built-in editor. Compared to that experience, working in Setka Editor is heaven. It's great that when you get access to the editor and take your very first steps in layout, you have a set of compiled articles as an example. Also, I had two onboarding meetings with the Setka team: the first (introductory) and the second, during which I already mastered the essential functions and could ask substantive questions.

liked that it was very easy to start using Setka Editor. I picked one of the pre-designed templates, created branded micro-templates and style, and was ready to publish our first blog post. With Setka Editor it’s become much easier to brand and customize content for our clients. Style Manager We were able to create easy-to-access templates for different content formats. Depending on a client we can pick from over 900 free Google fonts, Adobe fonts, or upload our clients’ fonts. Grids Setka’s modular grid system allows us to be very flexible and create layouts of 2 to 16 columns. Interactive Design Options It’s very easy to make any post more engaging with the animation feature, embed videos, using anchor links, built-in sliders for image galleries.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to instantly preview both desktop and mobile views has easily been the most useful feature of using Setka for article layouts. I’m also a big fan of the embed tool within Setka layouts. The feature allows us to quickly and easily add any custom code including HTML and javascript and control spacing between elements. Templates are also a powerful time-saving feature. We created a small library of different design templates that give us options. This helps us maintain our brand style in every piece we publish.

What do you dislike about the product?
As with any new tool, it took a little time to get familiar how to use it (as with any new tool). We definitely see Setka Editor’s value, and it’s pretty easy to get the hang of it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We appeal to readers in two kinds of contexts: those who have little time, and those who are invested in the topics of our reporting. So we needed a solution for quick stories long-form, deep investigations. The latter presents any team with the richest visual opportunities to really engage with readers. We wanted to experiment with the presentation, art direction, photography, and graphics. This led to seeking a solution that offered more than a standard page builder. Our very first story designed with Setka had a 95-98% scroll-depth, and time spent in the story was five minutes or better on average. It proved that design matters and the way we present our content motivates people to read further.

What do you like best about the product?
How speedy Setka makes us. We launched our content a month and a half before we even had an editor on staff, so definitely needed to make the creation process as efficient as possible. Thankfully, we found Setka Editor the week before we launched. During launch, it helped us create layouts for 36 posts in only two days. Now, our editor spends only half an hour to create a layout for a post. Onboarding calls with Setka team helped us a lot, too. What do you like best about the product?
Animation. When you first land on the page, there’s this wow factor. That eye candy really helps us communicate that, hey, this is something different Style Manager . I love that you can create these style guides in Setka and apply them to future stories. It helps us potentially sell more stories to the client, because we already have a lot of that predefined. So then that next story becomes even easier. Setka’s support. The hand holding even before I signed up told me that, even though this is a new tool, if you need help, it’s going to be there.

I would recommend creating a sandbox for you to play around with the tool, that's always the best way to learn everything it can do.

We can make stories better because we can allocate more budget towards the actual story and less on development costs. And we can invest more in better illustrations because we don’t have to spend the money on development of small animations like parallax scrolling and stuff like that. I know how much a story costs me to develop—like literally code—and I know that’s a lot more than the licensing fee of Steka. So those savings alone are nice.

We can create beautiful and user-friendly posts with Setka Editor. Our editors also enjoy the user-friendly interface and product. Previously we spent around two weeks onboarding a new editor and currently it takes only one day with Setka Editor. Apart from that, the Setka team provides some video tutorials that helped us find answers to every question. Lastly, the support and success teams are always available to help, which I think is the most significant advantage of Setka. What do you like best about the product?
Buro is a world-leading luxury digital destination for the affluent millennial audience. When we started working on the BURO UK flagship launch one of the goals was to create a digital publication with a unique visual voice optimized for high engagement. Our idea was to create an immersive, truly luxury user experience combining beautiful interactive digital imagery, video&3D art with the best of the print editorial aesthetics and bring it all to the digital publishing world and to all the screens. We also wanted to combine the artistic freedom in design for our internal and external teams all over the world with certain style guidance to make the user experience exciting yet consistent. Setka Editor had become a useful tool for our creative team to achieve our goals. We like that it’s mobile-first and optimizes every layout for mobile viewing. With Setka Editor we were able to add unique layouts, custom styles, and typography while preserving Buro identity and being consistent at scale. Also, Setka’s customer success team was very helpful whenever we needed their assistance.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not many but some of our ideas required the use of some custom CSS, however, there is a nice interface to apply it, and the Setka team can always help with advice on it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve created a range of handy templates that save our content creators and designers time while maintaining their creative freedom to tailor each layout well to the story and visuals. Our attention to detail for mobile experience has also become easily achievable with Setka’s options for mobile customization.

What do you like best about the product?
We often use scroll-activated animation, pull-quotes, and other ways to visualize important information. With Setka's mobile optimization all the photos render and display correctly in our content pieces.

We write for everyone who is interested in culture and art, science and politics, global social and economic trends. From the very beginning we wanted our longread content to be visually appealing. What do you like best about the product?
The Photo Editor With Setka, we can crop photos, apply design elements, and do some color changes all in one feature. It’s such a time saver and makes it so you’re not having to use all the tools. Now none of us have to open Photoshop. SEO Integration I love that I can make beautiful content without having to sacrifice some of the technical elements that will help us show up in search engines. We have seen dramatic improvements to our search engine results since implementing Setka. The Grid The grid gives great structure but it's also really flexible. We love that we can go in and change things up as needed to suit the the blog type. The Customer Support Team The customer support and success teams have gone above and beyond with product training and troubleshooting—any issues are usually resolved in a few hours or less

What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, nothing major comes to mind. I have been beyond impressed with Setka. The more I use it the more I like it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were undergoing a blog redesign and wanted to have create stories that were engaging and stood out from the pack. Our old blog lacked interactivity and didn't allow us to customize blog posts. We were limited in how we could present the information, and there was always a constant struggle between getting the content out or waiting to make it look better. Integrating Setka helped our team launch a new blog and to consistently crank out design-driven content that stands out. We also wanted participation across the team so everyone would have a hand in creating beautiful content. It is important not only for the company’s design-driven ethos but it saves the design team at least 4-5 hours a week since they’re not having to layout every post. Another challenge was to find a solution that would allow us to compete with content, to agilely deploy new content in an engaging way that impresses people when they land on our site. Setka helped us to stand out in a very crowded space. In addition to putting out two beautiful blog posts a week, we’ve also managed to start publishing ebooks.
