The library of content is a bit limited in terms of styling with characters. A few of the graphics could be updated but it does serve its overall purpose of quick video creation to share content.

It allows us to share content that could sometimes be redundant and boring, but with a video it's more interesting and keeps viewers attention longer. You're also able to get your message across easily, without having to worry about the design aspect of the video.

Powtoon is excellent for making presentation, explaning topics and making proposals. I has a great range of options and ways to get creative, its very easy to use and accesible. I strongly recommend it.

Personally, the only thing that's not so great is that some times the website gets a little slow when your video is too heavy.

very much user friendly, anyone with very minimal knowledge of video editing can easily create animations with Powtoon, learning curve is very less.

Since it is a cloud-based editing software it uses a good part of your system's ram, you need a powerful PC to run this software smoothly. Also, need internet connectivity with good speed.

One of the most attractive elements is that we can start using Powtoon without the need to have knowledge about the use of the tool since its use is very intuitive, and if you have used another type of animation software, Powtoon will surely be very familiar to you, in addition to being able to use it in the cloud, which means that each change and each update is saved directly, which minimizes the loss of information. Additionally, it is very effective for incorporating predefined templates or creating your own design with professional quality in a very short time, in addition to mixing elements available in the library together with the logos and color palette of the organization.

I used the pow toon for my book promotion. It is a really neat tool for creating promotional content. And I have watched other videos that content creators made using pow toon that were great too.

Powtoon is one of the best and most advanced software that helps a user create beautiful videos and presentations in a matter of minutes. It has an intuitive interface and comes with an array of pre-made templates that are made to cater to a spectrum of needs.

As a newbie, I found it difficult to figure out the interface of Powtoon but at the same time, I was astonished by the array of features it came with. It may take new users a little time to understand everything before they can start creating stuff here.

Highly customizable & flexible video animator app. This is something like Canva, but I think this could be a better choice for creating video for your company or personals use. Their templates are great. Specially, I love their templates for marketing and promotional video. You can see the screenshot that I have attached in this review before going with Powtoon.

Free properties are unique but very limited. It would be great if they added more free properties. The "Studio" interface looks complex and not easy to use for the beginner

I like the easy-to-navigate canvas. It's much more intuitive than it was in the early days. I also like the way I keep seeing them innovate. They are always looking for ways to improve upon the product components as well as the user interface.

Early on, I found it really hard to figure out the interface. Now, things are more intuitive and also there is a lot less clicking around because they allow you to make many changes directly from where you're working on the canvas. That saves a lot of time.

If you're seeking easy-to-use software to create explainer videos, I would suggest Powtoons. Not only do they have templates that you can start with, but they have a lot of various images, sounds and animations that you can use. They provide you with all the basics for getting started. What I also like is that they have music as well. So you basically have a canvas and all the pieces to create an out-the-door animation that you can be proud of. An added bonus is that they have the best support. They are responsive and helpful and you feel well taken care of. I highly recommend them to anyone exploring animated videos for their business. The support team really makes this an excellent investment.

I signed up in 2018 for $354 for an entire year. It was okay, but I canceled about a month before renewal, only to have an unauthorized charge made in 2019. In April 2021, I noticed another $354 charge. They refunded the card. Then, in July 2021, I noticed yet ANOTHER $354 charge. This made me downright suspicious. I researched my card to find another $354 charge in April 2020. Now, I'm pissed. They will not refund that charge. This is fraud. Do NOT trust Powtoon with your credit card. There are plenty of companies that do the same thing.

Powtoon continuously improves its core product, making a great product even better day by day. I've used Powtoon as an instructional designer and instructor for the past 6 years. I've maintained a Pro account because of all of the amazing features. I use it to develop presentations, tutorials, and some screen recordings that keep audiences engaged. The design canvas is easy to use and the characters, videos, music, etc. make it really easy to tell compelling stories.

EVERYTHING!!!!I I like all the new changes that the app now allows. I waited so very long for these changes. I was using the app before many of these cool additions were even possible. To see everything just come together now making animations so easy and accessible to everyone is just fantastic. They are very much on par with a particular competitor. I can't wait to see where they are and what they will do in another 5 years So many, many cool things where do I begin 1. You can customize a character's shape of the face, skin tone, hairstyle, clothing(tops, bottoms, footwear) add accessories, like earing, glasses, hats etc. with a few easy clicks ( a kid can do it) 2. Characters now finally can perform multiple poses/movements, walk, run, sit, lecture, type, chat on the phone, sleep, dance, yoga, crunches, sit play and so much more 3. Characters even now have lots of emotions, scared, happy, sad, angry... 4. You can download your files as Powerpoint documents to work in other formats, export as GIF, export direct to Youtube or Vimeo, even download slides as jpg files 5. Toggle back and forth between the edit/create buttons to change the style of template slides or add new elements to your videos or make them fully customized

What do you dislike about the product?
The Timeline can be a little clunky based on the browser you are working it I wish Powtoon would break out the timeline into multiple layers or levels for more control of the timing of actions. Definite room for improvement if they can keep it simple, but not a deal breaker as it is now.

There are other comparable animation software on the market just as good, and some may say even better, but I will stick to POWTOON. It is really so simple to use with very little learning curve. I have seen the evolution and waited patiently for some of the new changes and ability that the platform is now able to deliver. And I could not be happier. The team is very accommodating and helpful. And they are trully a generous company, I can't get into the details how in this review but know that they are. And the price plan is fairly flexible that you can get your projects done without breaking the bank. And Powtoon does not charge you extra if you wanted to sell your video to a client if you have the right license.

There are articles that "explain" how to do things these articles automatically assume that you have a good hold on how to navigate the site as they do not show how to insert items to how to get to a certain option from the home page. A video that shows how to access certain options from the home page would be ten fold more helpful. It is not as intuitive to learn how to use as some may have you believe. But if you have 3-4 extra hours a day and a lot of patience then I believe you would master this software.

I have created more problems for myself trying to use Powtoon, I haven' really solved any problems. It is really hard for me to learn how to use. It would be nice to have the animaltion to keep my student's attention. What do you like best about the product?
The templates! It makes the dev process a lot more efficient. They also allow you to save scenes from different videos that you can then reuse in your video. I also like that the software is versatile - you can use it for animations, real footage, scribbling-type screens and screencasting. They have a wide range of characters, props, video footage and free music. It is relatively easy to use and the finished product is very professional.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are three things Powtoon needs to improve: The animation of characters is limited. To change a character's pose or position mid-slide takes some tweaking to do. Also, I don't like there is only one timeline in the studio (rather than a timeline per item on the screen). It makes it hard to edit the videos. I would prefer to see a line per item on the screen. What is missing: to add a lip-sync feature for characters so that the voiceover matches the character talking time.

Powtoon is an incredibly powerful tool that can allow creative construction of video content with either using animations or live footage. A free version is available, and although that means content will have a watermark, it rarely limits the capabilities of the platform using animations or live footage. When using the free version, there are some limitations with what you can do with your video creation. For example, a person cannot download their video, nor can they make their video unlisted when uploading to YouTube. Because of the capacity for layering and icon movement, load time can take a moment, but all of these problems are solved with a higher bandwidth Internet and the paid version of the platform.

Powtoon makes it possible to create videos that are not just floating head recordings, which in turn, are much more visually impactful. How to simplify the layering process and makes it possible for people with limited design experience to create some really beautiful content! As a teacher, I have realized that students are much more attentive to videos with powerful text graphics and a wealth of movement, which is doable in Powtoon. Nationally, there are a lot of creative Commons video clips which can allow for very professional-looking work as well.

This web-based program allows users to create individual unique characters, provides a variety of backgrounds, stock video and photos and music. It also provides a ton of different movements for the characters and unique characteristics that can build a specific scene you're looking for. I have used this design platform for about 5 years and appreciate this tool. I have used it for full explainer videos and I've used it for just some transitions to put into other videos I've created. It's a great tool that I plan to continue to use.

I wish at times there was more options for music. I also wish they would continue to expand their characters and actions, but for the most part, there are great deal of options.

Quizas el servicio al cliente no es su fortaleza dado de que la herramienta es muy efectiva pero seria bueno contar con una persona en vivo y en directo, como se trabaja 100% en la web aveces los proyectos son bastante grandes y esto tarda en su procesamiento. No viene una version 100% en español y aveces es un poco frustrante pero utilizando el traductor de google se puede salir de apuros, la marca de agua de Powtoon eveces es molesta y quita mucho espacio en la presentacion obviamente la version gratuita, no es una herramienta colaborativa asi que no se puede compartir el proyecto para que otra persona lo continue

En caso de no ser usuarios expertos en presentaciones o realizar videos de manera sencilla POWTOON nos da la posibilidad de realizarlo de manera sencilla y guiada, ademas en la web podemos encontrar muchos tutoriales tanto en ingles como en español, asiq que deberian animarsen a utilizar esta magnifica aplicacion que de seguro sera de gran utilidad, los requisitos para su utilizacion son muy sencillos simplemente una PC con requisitos minimos una conexion a una red estable y ya, si en algun momento la red falla pues POWTOON como esta alojado en la nube guarda toda la informacion que hemos modificado o guardado sin perder ningun dato, no se necesita una capacitacion para aprender a utilizar esta herramienta, si desea considerar una version mas potente con acceso a todas las plantillas y quitar la marca de agua se debe pagar un costo para adquirir estas funcionalidades premium

Powtoon's character creator is the deal maker for me. I like to create real-life-looking scenes. The character builder lets me create diverse characters who are attractive and give a sense of authenticity to my work. Powtoon is simple to learn and use. It has a single level time-line that is efficient and effective. You can set the length of actions for it characters, which allows me to create the allusion of pauses and resumes in action in a single slide. The recent addition of folders allows me to organize my projects, which is a godsend.

I have to create most of my backdrops from scratch. Powtoon doesn't have enough templates, especially showing contemporary outdoor city/suburban backdrops and internal office/retail scenes. Powtoon doesn't keep its users abreast of changes and updates. I often see new features appear without any warning, that I might not have discovered if I had not be accessing a certain feature. Powtoon doesn't have character lip syncing.

To show realistic scenes, I need my characters to be able to change actions in a single slide. Powtoon allows me to do this effectively. The ability to have characters interact with uploaded video in the background fuels my creative juices, allowing me to create marketing videos that distinguish themselves from the standard fare.

It is easy to use it, it is very intuitive and easy to use it, I like to have available also other source than only cartoons since you can add videos from own or other sources

It get slow as you add so many slides or videos, once that you add three or four videos you will find that powtoon gets slow, I aslo dislike that in the past years I get exactly the same cartoons that we had used for several years, and the elements such as video letters are the same with no change I think they must work to improve it so as a video creator your videos created three years ago may be different from the ones you are creating now.

Powtoon is an interesting alternative, if you like easy to create video platform this will help since it allows to just drag and drop cartoons created by them or profesional videos created from other sources like shutterstock

What do you like best about the product?
Not only is it easy to use, but there are a lot of FREE features which helps a lot when you're first getting started. I also love the many templates - they really help me jumpstart my videos with lots of ideas that I never would have thought of.

What do you dislike about the product?
Although you can now create your own characters, more diversity is needed in the ones that are there currently. For example, I would love to use the whiteboard characters more, but there are only caucasian characters.

Try out the free version first. It gives you the ability to do a quality test on the software before you decide how much you truly need to spend on a plan.

What do you like best about the product?
It's a great way to inspire my students' creativity and get them used to simple animation. I use Powtoon for all sorts of projects (I'm a college professor). I also use it to send fun messages to my students and to substitute presentation materials when I feel creative. My students really enjoy using Powtoon. It's particularly good to create narrated slide shows - super easy to edit (if one slide doesn't work, one just corrects that one).

What do you dislike about the product?
Hum - I guess I wish there were more animation possibilities. It's very good but I'd like to see the characters have more animation options. I also wish Powtoon allowed education accounts to customize characters. The screenshot option could be improved but it's still in Beta.

Give students time to create a Powtoon just for fun before using it as a graded assignment to learn how to use the site before there is any pressure for the content they create!

A new and fun way to assess student understanding of concepts taught. Students are essentially creating their own video comic to show what they have learned, which benefits me as the teacher to know where they still may have some misunderstandings and where I may need to reinforce with some additional teaching.

What do you like best about the product?
Powtoon is easy to learn, offers a modern look for animations, and comes with a great variety of options for characters and assets. Powtoon also seems to continually be updating. They just released a new features where you can capture/record yourself and your screen at the same time. I've used this several times for recorded demos.

What do you dislike about the product?
In comparison to Vyond, they lack variations of micro-expressions and the ability to edit further down. However, they have recently updated so that you can customize characters. Perhaps the details of micro-expressions and actions will come in the future.

I use it most often for training. I leverage this with our Articulate Storyline to create compelling and visual stories. I'll sometimes use this for marketing purposes or creating gifs for email campaigns.

What do you like best about the product?
I like about Powtoon that is really easy to use, it includes different animations and templates you can use to create your videos. I've been able to use it several times to create a short video for my students, they have also used it to create videos about the grammar topics and vocabulary we see in class. It's cheap and affordable and plus you can create as many videos as you like. If you don't feel like creating content, you can also search for videos from other users.

Nothing, Powtoon is really amazing and I really like it.

What do you like best about the product?
We used Powtoon as part of our social media campaign to raise awareness of the UK Census 2021. We made short animations about the Census. Our normal Facebook posts when boosted receive about 60 views one of our Powtoons got over 4,000 views. As a result of our Powtoon campaign, we were the most successful Census Support Centre in the North of England.

I cannot think of anything I dislike we have tried other animation products and this is the easiest to use and delivers the most impact.

Start with the in house training and use the templates first. It is very easy to use. Then start using your own content as well. If you have a problem ask the customer support team they are so helpful. Powtoon easy to learn and has a huge impact. The world is becoming more visual using Powtoon ensures people will see your message.

The Powtoon platform allows me to create very professional videos in minutes. I mostly use their templates and adapt to what I need. I never have any problems getting done what is needed.

My only suggestion is a way to organize the images and videos I upload. I would love to be able to tag them so I can find what I need easily without having to scroll through all the images.

- props: most props are animated ( not the same with animaker for example ) - characters: editable cosmo characters - you can customize your character with more professional look comparing to other DIY tools - quick export: whether the gif or to upload your video on youtube its much quicker than animaker - animated shapes and more varieties when it comes to icons - good transition options

- limited character poses: very limited poses available, offering very basic and limited scenarios like "happy, sad, angry etc" comparing to Animaker where you find tons of scenarios and poses - very poor and limited enter and exit effect: this is probably one of the main disadvantage of powtoon, comparing to Animaker where you can control how slow or fast the effect is , - no voice over control: you can play with the voice over in case you want to adjust where the voice starts ( say from slide 2 for example ) this is not available in powtoon, again animaker is much powerful when it comes to voice over features - GIF exports are very low resolution, despite the fact that the download is super quick ( unlike animaker ) , the resolution of the GIF is not the best

There is a ton to like. I personally enjoy the ease of use and the plethora of stock images/videos available for use. The text to speech Narration feature is very impressive.

One of things that confused me at first was how the menu changes when going from page to page. It would be nice if there was greater consistenty between the various pages.

We used PowToons to add Narration to voiceless videos. This allowed greater flexibility when recording the video and no one on the team needed to record their own voices.

Constant errors and bug reports. I have to refresh my page all the time, and it is very time-consuming! The huge problem is only being able to use 1 song, and you have to use it throughout the entire presentation. You cant use only on one slide and you cant use sound effects on only one slide! That needs to be fixed. Why would you offer sound effects if you cant use them on only 1 slide?! I have to upload my videos into sceen cast o matic to add music and sound effects. Need to increase narration time. Please offer more character choices and the design your own should be free in the educational plan not only pro. As a teacher I cant afford that!!!

It is very easy to create fun, engaging and professional look video clips. The templates are awesome; they have a lot of collections you can always choose the ones that suit your need.

The price is a bit high. However, if you could afford it, it worths every cent! Another thing I don't like (just a bit) is that if I want to include the voiceover that longer than the clips in the template, I need to do some work.

I love the interface. It's a very easy tool to use and they keep adding features every year (I've been using it for 5 years running!).

When you copy and paste items between slides, instead of preserving the original time, the Powtoon tool extends the duration of the pasted item to the end of the slide, so you have to go to the end and drag the time duration back to where you want it, which is kind of a pain.

There are lots of options, colors, and pre-set themes to make your life easier. You can export it to different formats, and you can save and continue working on it across different platforms because its all in the cloud (also - autosave).

It may come across as a bit childish, it does have some professional themes but those options are a bit more limited. Additionally, sometimes there is a lag with presentations when exported to a video.

If you are a newbie or have a lot of experience but want something quick and easy to share with your team, I recommend Powtoon. Sometimes I don't need a bazooka for a water balloon fight, and the small but Powtoond does the job with less fuss than a larger system like articulate.

The user interface is intuitive - drag and drop for the most part. There is also an extensive library of elements and objects to select from. It's easy to adapt a template from the library if you happen to be creating a video that aligns with the style or intent of one of the templates.
