The most helpful thing about Mintent is that gives us a way to plan and organize our blog content that's customizable and flexible. It allowed us to set up briefs for each piece of content in whatever level detail we needed, with our own system of categories and classification, which could then be visually organized (using views built around our own classifications that we can also changes and adjust) and sorted as a calendar. It's a great way to SEE your content plan. And the fact that you can easily move things, like changing the planned publication date of a piece of content, by just dragging and dropping an item on the calendar, makes it easier to be responsive when your content needs change.

What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside for Mintnet is that the analytics are automatically integrated in a way that join them to the content briefs. You have to create your own structured habit to join the information on the content briefs with analytics for analyses. But that's a problem for everybody and all content planning systems.

I appreciate the Mintent team's responsiveness to client feedback or any issues we may be facing. They respond almost immediately and are truly solution-focused providers. They also keep us updated on any new features they've added that they know will be valuable to our team to help us work more efficiently. Through the reporting features of Mintent we've been able to understand the types of work our team contributes to including on an individual level. Gaining this level of visibility helps with future planning from a roles and responsibilities standpoint.

A challenge for our internal business partners who are part of Mintent review and workflows is that there is not single sign on. They would rather Mintent be accessible without having to log in separately. It would also be helpful to be able to review a document in a cloud so everyone could access and mark up with edits (word docs and pdfs) in one document instead of having to upload multiple documents for each step of the review process with each person's individual edits. The team would also prefer all employees had access to Mintent for submitting Marketing requests company wide. Currently, if we receive a requests from someone in the company who is not a Mintent user, it's submitted via email and one of us Mintent users enters a job in Mintent on their behalf. Reviewing of the project must then be handled with some things happening in Mintent and some things happening outside Mintent.

I'd recommend Mintent to any team struggling to manage their projects and requests, planning their content calendars or setting up workflows as well as review and approval processes. We no longer need to keep track of requests via email where many requests were lost and not prioritized. Mintent allows us to prioritize our projects based on need, deadline and content calendar. Being able to get a calendar view of our projects based on audience has helped us strategically plan our communications. We've also been able to ensure all projects have gone through the appropriate approval process by adding our key stakeholders to the review process. From a workload management standpoint, Mintent has helped us disperse projects where we have resource availability. We use Mintent in our weekly project status meetings with the team to ensure all projects are on track and being completed within deadline. Mintent has also helped bring to light the value of the Marketing team by being able to pull reports on projects completed. Most recently, Mintent has help us raise awareness to leadership of all covid-19 related projects our team has taken on. The Mintent dashboard and content calendar is a great way to easily manage and organize the content your team has in production. The content library has a nice filter feature that allows you to sift through your company's content and find exactly what you're looking for. Plus, it's cheaper than other tools that serve the same purpose.

What do you dislike about the product?
Assigning tasks could use a bit of a redesign. There's a bit of a learning curve when trying to create a job for someone to do. Mintent requires a lot of team adoption in order to be useful. In order to keep track of everything, everyone needs to use the tool. As we know, not everyone will be on-board right away so my advice is spend some time getting everyone up to speed. Also, the UI is a little bit of an eyesore. The email notifications are also a little tough to get the hang of. A few team members received way too many notifications so we had to dial that back a little bit with customization.

Focus on getting everyone on the team to use the tool. If people go back to asking for content via email because it's easier, it defeats the purpose of Mintent's organizational functions. And don't forget to customize your email notifications or your inbox might get flooded.

Furthermore, we've streamlined our content creation process by assigning tasks through Mintent and sending out task notifications.

Truly the best feature for us has been a place to put all content ideas, pitches, and possible repurposed pieces all in once place, then turn them live in production in the same place. We also use it to schedule out social and see how that content overlays with other content, at a glance.

Some of the features are a little clunky and not customizable. In general, it's better than using spreadsheets and documents in shared folders, but it's not a dream.

What do you like best about the product?
We decided to trial this content management tool for our team of 15+ globally dispersed people. We were curious to see how the adoption process would be; and were pleased that our consultant actually had a phased process according to just this approach. We are currently in the mid-adoption phase where they have integrated our Marketo account; as well as various documents and calendars. This way the team can feel a certain level of familiarity to their day-to-day workflows. One thing that I appreciate about this software is the analytics capabilities it has for reporting to executive management. We are able to determine how many pieces of unique content are produced; and where each piece of this content is utilized. (Blogs, trade publications, social media, etc.) It will also pull real-time results from any of the recent campaigns that are running in Marketo. It's pretty slick. They also just rolled out a new UI, which I haven't had time to explore; though it looks like quite an upgrade from their last version. I still have a bit of exploration and tinkering to do within this software, but we are pretty happy with it so far.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit early on for me to determine what my dislikes are in this platform. One of the original pieces of Input I had was on the difficulty in navigating adding new drop downs to organize the content. This is more of a "set up" issue though; and not really a day-to-day pain point. I also think that, like with most of these type of platforms there is a learning curve and it takes a true commitment and investment of your time to adopt this for your team. This isn't as much of a dislike as it is a reality that you need to make/set aside time to learn it and use it.

Definitely give it a trial. Especially if you have geographically dispersed team members and a matrixed organization.
