What do you like best about the product?
Bitly is one of the best free saas tools I have used to generate our QR codes & shorten URLs. The platform has a very easy and reliable user interface even for first time users. The tool also helps you track engagement rates like clicks which is very helpful.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside I have faced with the platform is that you can just shorten 100 URLs a month and generate 2 QR Codes per month. I hope they reduce the price for paid plans for small startups like us.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the big issues we resolved with bitly is that we were able to reduce our long payment URLs within 30 characters which is very essential while sending our SMS to customers after new TRAI rules which became effective from this year. Another one was that we were able to track the click rates on each link created on Bitly, which was very essential with respect to our marketing purpose.

What do you like best about the product?
Being one of the longest around om the URL-shorter market bitly keeps improving and developing its shortener. It's also the most recognised shortner URL with a wide integration base with other programs. Also, their browser extension to quickly create links works flawlessly. Plus, it's easy to connect your own domain name.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not much, to be honest. One thing we would like to see is with their browser extension to have a 'one-click' link creation. It would be super effective if the click on the extension would create the link and copy it simultaneously to the clipboard as this is 99% of the time the actions we do. It would save quiet a few clicks.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ability to re-direct links or rename links. To keep branding consistent, we moved away from using individual links for each event and instead use the same link each year for recurring events. All we change is the back end URL so direct to the new landing page for the event each year. This has also been helpful when unexpected errors required us to redirect away from a location we had originally planned to use.

What do you dislike about the product?
I have not received good support when I have questions or concerns. For instance, I could not get clarity on the number of redirects or unique links I could make each month. I was unaware these limits even existed until I needed them and found I had reached that limit. This caused real problems with our marketing and I couldn't get contact with anyone on the bitly team who could help me.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main platform we use for hosting events, job postings, etc., creates very long and ugly URLs. These aren't a big concern when they can be embedded into a link, but this obviously doesn't work for printed materials, and also makes it hard to share the link address easily or in a memorable way. In order to print relevant and useful materials, bitly cleans up those links in a way that we can provide a short, easy-to-remember link. Being able to customize the links into a logical acronym or word is very helpful.

What do you like best about the product?
As a teacher and event chair for a large state competition, I use Bitly almost daily to connect students and delegates to important information. I have used TinyURL as well, but Bitly is both more well-known and more user-friendly. I love that they have added the QR code with the logo!

I totally understand that Bitly needs to make money, and it's a great product! That being said, it stinks that you have to have a paid account to switch the URL to which a link redirects. I would also like to be able to transfer "ownership" of my Bitly addresses across accounts.

When I plan events for students across the state, Bitly's shortened links and QR codes let me get information to students and adults in the quickest and most accessible way possible! As we try to move away from paper programs, Bitly has allowed me to post QR codes for virtual programs instead!

What do you like best about the product?

This was a great way to keep sustainability top of mind by not having bins of paper being tossed at the end of a show. Also, it provided us a way to share out the information via links to the registered media after the show...just in case they needed a reminder of what products they saw.

Setup for a custom domain was an absolute breeze, and the Chrome extension makes it darned easy to make new links. It's nice to have the analytics a click away, too.

I wish we could have multiple logins without spending a lot more for other features we don't need. (Or better yet, SSO integration so anyone at the company could just automatically use it.) We get around it by sharing a password, which is inelegant but successful.

They trick you with a UI detail so that you think they have a monthly plan and then they charge you with a yearly subscription. Then what? DISASTER - After requesting a refund they answer you that is not possible. Once you tell them you have to right to have the refund they answer you "AFTER 14 DAYS" that you can request refund in 14 days :) Already requested but still no refund.

What do you like best about the product?
We love the branded links and the ease of use. The tracking information (clicks, locations, UTMs etc) is helpful for our marketing campaigns. I haven't used a ton of competitors, but it's a bit more user-friendly than Blink in my opinion.

Even with our paid subscription level, we're still only limited to 10 corrections/edits on existing links. This can be an issue on our end when our URL customization changes based on segmentation.

I like how quick and easy bitly is to use, and how it's open to anyone to use. It really cleans up your posts when you're trying to share content that requires linking out to another site.

Analytics are very basic and (as far as I know) there's no way to customize your link.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Bookmark bitly on your browser if you're not using a software that automatically shortens links. It only takes a few seconds to shorten a link and it will make your posts/feed much cleaner.

I use bitly to shorten links for companies that I freelance for that don't pay for social media aggregator tools that automatically link shorten. Bitly cleans up their posts and provide some basic info like how many users clicked on that link.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the most about Bit.ly that you can create short URLs with ease. For my organization, I could make 50 URLS a month which is an enormous amount, especially for small organizations. It also has two-factor-authentication, which I also STRONGLY like because it is helpful for organizations.

best link-sharing app and link shortening app. One can shorten long links into tiny & handy links. These shortened links when getting shared on platforms look much tidy. It makes reference links looks less clumpsy

The only drawback of using this product is while sharing links on social media platforms thumbnail of bitly gets formed. for example, if I am sharing a Facebook or youtube video or any google link, instead of the regular thumbnail, bitly thumbnail appears which is quite irritating. End users sometimes don't open these links also.

I can track how many times users have opened my link which is good for analytics. Sometimes when you share links on a non-digital mode like paper, then in bibliography or reference then bitly comes to the rescue, as big links look quite odd.

There is nothing to dislike about it. The software is amazing, there are a lot of features which take some time to learn apart from basic features. But overall I am quite satisfied.

Bitly has been great in managing important links for our company across all functions. The huge value add is not having to change links in different spots when we make changes to a Calendly page or a survey page -- we can just link to the Bitly link and change where it redirects. What do you like best about the product?
As a business person & part time freelancer i always need a url shortener tool/software. And at first i want to say that, bitly is most useful & cheap software for an entry level digital marketer. It is one of the oldest platform in this field. I mostly like it for it's tracking capacity. If any traffic click bitly link, this click will track within a second. This software also has free version. Many useful features can accessible at zero cost. It’s' easy to use. Just simply paste long URL & short it. Then use it anywhere you want.

What do you dislike about the product?
From my point of view there aren’t any major issue which i dislike. It's comparatively cheaper then other URL shortener but provides lots of features. So i think there are some factors which can be adjusted to attract new customers. If bitly support traffic IP tracking and provide us as a text/pdf format. Then it would be more helpful for a marketer. I use the highest plan but there are limitation for redirecting. They should remove these limitations for their premium users.

What do you like best about the product?
1. As a marketing person, the feature that i like the most is the ability to add utm source, and other query parameters. It makes it easy for me to track everything in our analytics tool. 2. The UI is super simple, you can shorten the link in few clicks 3. Bitly has an extension which makes my work easy, I don't have to go to bitly dashboard to shorten link, I can do it right away with the extension.

1. Analytics only shows country and referrers. It should show more detailed analytics. 2. Also, it has no comparison tool that allows to compare performance of specific links

What do you like best about the product?
Great for creating custom links (and it's especially helpful that it has a built-in UTM parameter builder) and it's easy to connect a custom domain. Bitly also makes it easy to update an existing shortened link to point to a new page, which is greatly appreciated (so it's not a one-and-done situation with particular short links).

What do you dislike about the product?
The analytics Bitly offers are frustrating to navigate: each link is listed out individually, so you have to click into each one to see specific stats. There's the ability to add tags to links to make reporting easier, but in our usage, Bitly serves the sole purpose of creating a shortened link and we evaluate metrics elsewhere (like Google Analytics) so building out a good reporting structure in Bitly isn't really part of our workflow.

What do you like best about the product?
I started independently tracking my url click-through traffic because I didn't trust Facebook. Turns out I was right and Facebook is WAY OVERESTIMATING link clicks from my ads. It is important to me as a marketing manager to see our ad budget's effectiveness. I exclusively use bitly links to track all traffic sources for each product.

What do you dislike about the product?
The tagging is glictchy. Sometimes it won't assign a tag that I have selected. Only happens once in a while. I contacted bitly and they have helped for most of the links to correct the issue. Also, I pay for bitly but there is an even more expensive membership I would need to get for better data exporting. This is annoying and I have to sort my data manually. The upgraded paid version is far more services than we need so I can't justify that expense to save me time.

I wish that Bitly offered easier ways to categorize links so that they could be more easily accessed later. I'd be interested to see some sort of folder system, or even the ability to store links by date ranges. I often have to reference old shortlinks, and that's not easy and intuitive to do.
